GAMBARAN HUBUNGAN PEMBERIAN NATA LIDAH BUAYA TERHADAP KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH PADA SINDROM METABOLIK

Abstract


Latar belakang: Sindrom metabolik merupakan suatu kumpulan faktor risiko yang berkaitan dengan penyakit kardiovaskular dan diabetes mellitus tipe 2 yang terdiri dari obesitas viseral, hipertensi, glukosa puasa tinggi, dan dislipidemia. Kadar glukosa darah memiliki peranan penting dalam patologi yang membentuk sindrom metabolik. Lidah buaya merupakan tanaman memiliki aktivitas biologis (antikanker, antioksidan, antiinflamasi, antihyperglycemic, antihypercholesterolemic dan antidiabetes).

Tujuan: Melihat gambaran hubungan pemberian nata lidah buaya terhadap kadar glukosa darah pada sindrom metabolik.

Metode: True experimental, open study randomized, pre-post-test,with control group design dengan kelompok perlakuan (n=19) dan kontrol (n=19) sindrom metabolik. Pemberian nata lidah buaya 165 g/hari (30 hari) pada kelompok perlakuan. Kedua kelompok diberikan edukasi tatalaksana gizi sindrom metabolik. Kadar glukosa darah diukur pre dan post). Analisis data menggunakan Paired t-test dan Wilcoxon-test untuk mengetahui perubahan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Independent t-test dan Mann-whitney-test digunakan untuk mengetahui selisih sebelum dan setelah pemberian antar kelompok.

Hasil: Analisis pemeriksaan kadar glukosa puasa (p=0,001) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol. Pemeriksaan kadar glukosa puasa (p=0,001) sebelum dan sesudah intervensi nata lidah buaya menunjukkan adanya perubahan yang signifikan.

Kesimpulan: Pemberian nata lidah buaya terbukti bisa menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada sindrom metabolik.
